Our First Time Visiting New Orleans

We were thrilled to find out that the research Matt and his group had been working on was accepted into the APTA Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) in New Orleans, LA. Over the past few years, Matt had been able to travel to several different Physical Therapy conferences - Las Vegas, Nashville, and also one back in Miami. However, CSM is kind of the big brother of all these conferences. It is the largest and most research-based conference as well as the most anticipated annual gathering for the Physical Therapy world. Along with that, most of Matt's classmates would be attending - like a early UMDPT reunion before graduation! It seemed like this was finally the right time for me to proudly wear the title of "clingy wife" and tag along - especially because Matt was presenting and we had yet to visit New Orleans!

After spending a little over a week in Minnesota, we were thrilled to finally get back to the warm weather. For the first few days, Matt attended the conference until early evening. Our hotel was about a 20 min walk to Bourbon Street and Jackson Square. We enjoyed spending the evenings out with friends exploring and catching up on the happening of the last few months!

Our last day in the city was set aside for Matt and I to explore, and yes - we walked and walked and walked as usual! After socializing with friends over the hotel breakfast, we headed out to some of the top spots we wanted to see. We walked through the French Quarter, Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, and obviously stopped twice for beignets at Cafe Du Monde! Guys, we ate SO MANY BEIGNETS!

There is nothing quite better than exploring a new city with your best friend - and we were so thankful for the opportunity to do that in New Orleans! Keep up to date with us by following us on Instagram @OCEANSANDEVERGREENS
